Meet the Team

  • Melissa Janiszewski is a visionary public sector leader with over 20 years of experience in public health, social services, and community economic development, working across the U.S. and globally.
    With deep expertise in public health systems, health policy, and culturally responsive prevention, Melissa has led transformative initiatives that improve outcomes for children, families, and underinvested communities. She has worked in partnership with government agencies, philanthropic institutions, and nonprofits to design and implement strategies that address systemic inequities and promote long-term, community-centered impact.

    Her leadership is grounded in equity, informed by decades of cross-sector collaboration, and defined by her ability to navigate complexity, align diverse stakeholders, and deliver results through bold, values-driven action.

  • Katherine (Kat) Jarvis is a strategic and action-oriented professional with 16 years of multi-sector experience, including seven years in the nonprofit sector, four years of consulting business development, and over five years in local government. As Co-Founder & Principal of Piñon Advising, she provides her expertise in action-oriented strategy development and results-oriented implementation.

    Kat has a unique blend of experiences and skills including process improvement and strategic planning. Throughout her career she has gravitated toward roles that allow her to envision a desired future state for organizations and teams and assess the current state to build actionable plans for progress. Kat understands how to turn vision and strategy into action. During her time with the City of Denver, she participated in several key initiatives, including the development of two Special Revenue funds, leading two strategic planning efforts, a year-long agency reorganization, and an overhaul of agency processes & procedures.

    Most recently Kat served as Deputy Director of Strategic Operations with OCA where she oversaw a $73 million multi-source budget, reduced contracting delays by over 50%, and successfully promoted 20% of agency staff through strategic human capital management.

    Kat is trained in Technology of Participation (TOP) Facilitation Methods and is a Denver Peak Academy Black Belt. She has extensive experience facilitating trainings, planning sessions, & process improvements with professionals in the social impact sector. Kat received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from Grinnell College in 2009 and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska, Omaha in 2015.
